- Users are responsible for the security of the desktop or mobile devices they use, and for the accuracy of the information stored therein. Every user must also be aware that any data on the device is the property of the Al-Jawf Region Municipality, and users must be careful not to place personal data on Al-Jawf Region Municipality devices.
- The computers and peripheral devices such as printers and others that are provided are for work purposes only and are prohibited from being used for any personal purpose.
- It is prohibited to use the devices provided by the Al-Jouf Region Municipality in any way that violates the Anti-Cybercrime Law or other relevant regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- It is prohibited to send, receive or store all forms of data that violate the system, such as information about people and materials subject to intellectual property rights, or the use of unlicensed software, etc.
- The use of Peripheral storage media and peripheral devices (such as disc burners, USB flash drives, etc.) is limited to business needs only, and after obtaining the necessary approvals.
- All employees must not disclose any information related to the Al-Jouf Region Municipality or any confidential information to any unauthorized party.
- All employees must review the Acceptable Use Policy and fully adhere to all cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- All employees must report any breach, incident, violation or violation affecting Al-Jouf Municipality
(or suspected to affect and whatever the degree) to cybersecurity management. - All employees and visitors must commit to showing their identification cards in all Al-Jouf Municipality facilities.

- The Cybersecurity Department must be notified when any activity is suspected that may cause damage to the Al-Jawf Region Municipality’s computers or its assets.
- Ensure that all communication links are closed upon completion of work.
- It is prohibited to remove or delete any of the necessary software or files that the user needs to perform his duties according to his job description, responsibilities, and the interest of the work, or that protect against cyber attacks.
- It is prohibited to stop/disable/delete protection and monitoring programs from Al-Jawf Region Municipality devices, including, but not limited to: desktop computers, laptops, and servers.
- It is prohibited to copy software or files to external storage media for purposes other than official work.
- It is prohibited to install any software that is not licensed (or not approved by the Al-Jouf Region Municipality), suspicious, or violates intellectual property laws, or unlicensed ancillary software.
- It is prohibited to install and run software or applications without ensuring that they are free of viruses or any type of malicious software.
- It is prohibited to use licensed software and applications for private benefit or develop malicious software.
- It is prohibited to use software and applications licensed to the Al-Jouf Region Municipality for purposes other than official work.
- It is prohibited to remove devices from their designated places without permission.
- It is prohibited to use devices/media without ensuring that they are free of viruses or any type of malicious software.
- Acceptable use of the Internet and software
- This clause clarifies the acceptable and prohibited uses of the Internet service in the Al-Jawf Municipality to achieve its objectives and for the benefit of its work.
- Use the Internet for official work purposes only and in accordance with the policies of the Al-Jouf Region Municipality and the Kingdom’s regulations and legislation.
- Uploading any content related to the nature of the employee’s work, provided that all of the following conditions are met:

- It is prohibited to participate and contribute to news groups and other groups that are not related to official work.
- It is prohibited to use, send, copy or receive any information or materials that lead to a violation of the copyright, trademark rights, trade secrets or patent rights of any third party, whether this party is an individual or an institution.
- Acceptable use of email
- This clause explains acceptable and prohibited practices when using email systems in the Al-Jouf Municipality.
Use of email for non-business purposes is prohibited, and in accordance with cybersecurity policies and standards. - Users are prohibited from using the Al-Jawf Region Secretariat’s email to send or receive mail messages as follows:
- Messages containing notes or comments - regardless of their age - that indicate racial or sectarian discrimination or belittle others.
- Registration on websites by official mail for non-work purposes, including, but not limited to, registration on reservations sites, social media, banks, etc.
- Messages that contain viruses, destructive programs, misleading information or spam.
- Messages to support charitable efforts, to support candidates or analysts, or to support a political opinion.
- Personal messages, personal business messages, entertainment messages, or group congratulations messages.
- Electronic messages containing information or materials that violate the copyright, trademark, trade secret, or patent right of any third party, whether an individual or an organization.
- Encryption techniques should be used when sending sensitive information via email or communications systems.
- You must not register the Al-Jawf Region Municipality’s email address on any site that is not related to work.
- The Cybersecurity Department must be notified when there is suspicion of the presence of emails containing content that may cause damage to the Al-Jouf Region Municipality’s systems or assets.
- The Al-Jouf Region Municipality reserves the right to reveal the contents of e-mail messages after obtaining the approval of human resources or the person in charge in accordance with the relevant procedures and regulations.
- Do not open suspicious or unexpected emails and attachments even if they appear to be from trustworthy sources.
- It is prohibited to send any important or sensitive information owned by the Al-Jawf Region Municipality or to others via the Internet without ensuring that adequate controls are in place to protect the information from any breach, in addition to obtaining written approval from the direct official or the concerned authorities.
- It is prohibited to send any message that does not contain at the end the sender’s signature in the format approved by the Al-Jawf Region Secretariat.
- It is prohibited to leave the user's e-mail system during the period of vacation without using the Out of Office Auto Reply feature for internal correspondence.
- Acceptable use for video conferencing and web-based communications

- It is prohibited to make communications or hold video meetings using Al-Jouf Region Municipality systems that are not related to work without obtaining prior permission.
- Acceptable use of equipment
